River Basin Management Plan

MGS supports the preparation of a basin management plan based on the entire basin, taking into account a sustainable balance of conservation and use for water resources to ensure the protection of water resources and living life in the watershed.

Drinking Water Basin Conservation Plan and Special Provision Determination Projects

MGS is committed to protecting and improving the water resources provided and planned to be supplied with drinking and utility water; it carries out the studies of determining the general characteristics of each source and basin, pollutant sources affecting water quality and data on water quality by scientific methods, modeling, analysis and synthesis, and determining the applications and provisions to be made in order to prevent contamination of protected areas and water in these areas.

Drought Management Plan

MGS supports in reducing the negative effects that will occur when faced with possible drought risks, determining the measures to be taken in water scarcity and establishing measures to be taken before, during and after drought to solve drought problems.

Flood Management Plan

MGS conducts a basin-based assessment of the potential negative impacts regarding floods on human health, environment, cultural heritage and economic activities, the route of topography, streams and rivers, natural water retention areas, flood bearings, general geological-hydrogeological features, the effectiveness level of existing infrastructures against flooding, the location of residential areas, economic activity areas, strategic structures, and the possible impacts of climate change.

Water Quality Monitoring

MGS provides services for the determination and classification of the biological, chemical, physico-chemical and hydromorphological qualities of surface (river, lake, transitional, coastal water) and ground waters, monitoring of water quality and quantity, protection and measures to be taken to achieve good water status.

Climate Change

Climate change is defined as the change in the climate as a result of human activities directly or indirectly affecting the composition of the atmosphere.

MGS is a solution partner in determining the effects of climate change on underground and surface water resources in Turkey and developing adaptation activity proposals for eliminating the negative effects of climate change on water resources.
